Bihar has faced the wrath of nature for quite a while now and it has, therefore, become extremely important for the Government to turn its attention towards a disaster-affected Bihar and provide some relief.

In the light of this knowledge, the Government of India has initiated the Bihar Badh Rahat Yojana – a Flood relief scheme for the citizens of Bihar.

What does the scheme offer?

Bihar Badh Rahat Yojana is a scheme that promises to offer relief to the flood-affected families of Bihar both in cash and kind. The government of Bihar has announced that ₹6000 will be provided to the flood-affected families of Bihar under the Bihar Badh Rahat Yojana.

Even those families who have lost their kutcha or pucca houses will also be entitled to such financial relief.

Which are the regions getting relief from the Government of Bihar?

Ideally, areas that are most affected by the floods will receive immediate attention and relief from the Bihar government. These districts are Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Supaul, Kishanganj, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Khagaria, and East & West Champaran.

These are areas that have faced the most damage and more than 6.36 lakh people who live here are affected by the floods.

How will the aid be provided?

Those affected by the floods will have the financial relief offered to them directly through their bank account through direct benefit transfer by the State government.
