About the Joy Bangla Scheme
The West Bengal Joy Bangla Scheme is a pension scheme that happens to be launched in phases. These phases will be beneficial to the socially backward categories of society and enable them to earn their way into respectable standards of living.
The scheme has ideally been launched for the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes. The scheme launched for the Scheduled Caste happens to be the Taposali Bandhu Pension scheme and the scheme launched for the Scheduled tribe is known as the Jai Johar scheme.
Both of these schemes are meant to benefit the marginalised communities in West Bengal and both of these schemes will benefit different castes and categories of society.
What are the benefits offered under the Joy Bangla scheme?
There happen to be several benefits under the Joy Bangla Scheme which is announced by the West Bengal Finance Minister Mr Amit Mitra. The list of incentives offered under the scheme are ideally provided to the residents of West Bengal state and are mentioned herewith:
- Under the Taposali Bandhu Pension scheme, a total of ₹600 will be offered to the beneficiaries
- Under the Jai Johar scheme, ₹1,000 will be provided to all beneficiaries.
What are the eligibility criteria for the scheme?
In order to be considered eligible under the scheme, the applicant has to follow the following eligibility criteria:
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of West Bengal
- The applicant must belong to a BPL category
- The applicant must belong to the Scheduled caste or Scheduled Tribe community
- The applicant must not be above the age of 60
- The applicant must not be enrolled in any other welfare or pension scheme of the state of West Bengal.
List of Documents needed to avail the benefits of the scheme
In order to avail the benefits of the scheme, the following documents need to be kept handy by the applicant:
- Passport photographs
- Copy of the caste certificate
- Copy of digital certificate from the appropriate authority
- A copy of the digital Ration Card
- Copy of the Aadhaar Card
- Copy of Voter ID Card
- Copy of Residential Certificate
- Copy of Income Certificate
- Copy of Bank Passbook

With this scheme in place, the people belonging to Below Poverty Line(BPL) will receive financial assistance, which they happen to need the most. By offering them this financial aid, their circle of poverty can finally see an end.
