From the days of yore, traditional farming practices have revered cattle for the multifarious benefits they offer. From milk to offering strength for ploughing, cattle have proved their worth, time and again.

In order to care better for cattle health, the Andhra Pradesh government is launching the Andhra Pradesh Cattle health card scheme 2021. The YSR, through the implementation of this scheme, will offer Andhra Pradesh health cards to all eligible beneficiaries. Families that have been identified in the state through the Livestock census would be able to benefit from the scheme and can apply for the Cattle health card.

To run the scheme perfectly well, the state government has allocated ₹50 crores.

The scheme would be implemented with the help of village volunteers who are available at Rythu Bharosa Kendras, present all across the state.

What the scheme covers?

The scheme offers all cattle health-related services such as deworming, breeding, Brucellosis vaccination, foot and mouth disease control, Entertoxemia disease (ETD) control, and even sheep packs would be covered under the scheme.

The vaccination and deworming program will be conducted twice each year across the state. In this scheme, the state government will also compensate for the loss of cattle under the YSR livestock losses compensation scheme.

The Andhra Pradesh government will distribute Animal health cards to livestock owners so as to maintain the record of livestock and extend services to farmers. The Animal card will be useful to get compensation from the state government. People can even check the Andhra Pradesh health card scheme application process to find out more about the benefits.
