Passport application for New Passport using the mPassport Seva

The app released by the Consular Passport and Visa (CPV) division offers the passport application form online. The process to apply is mentioned below:

1. Download the mPassport app from the Android or iOS play store
2. Open the app
3. Click on the “New User Register” option
4. Select the Passport office from the Dropdown menu
5. Next, the applicant has to enter details like name, date of birth, email ID, etc
6. Provide the unique login ID
7. Set up a strong password
8. Select a security question and answer it in order to retrieve the password if forgotten in the future
9. Enter the captcha code and click on “Submit”
10. On doing so, an email verification link the applicant will be redirected to a new webpage and asked to enter the login ID for confirmation
11. Once the account is verified, the applicant is required to close the app and relaunch it
12. The applicant is required to click on the “Existing User”
13. To provide the login ID, password and the captcha code
14. Thereafter, click on the “Apply for a fresh passport”
15. Fill in the form and follow the steps mentioned in the app
16. Make the necessary payment for the requisite app
17. The final step is to fix an appointment to visit a Passport Seva Kendra for document verification
