The Union Minister for Coal recently launched the Satyabhama yojana – a portal for Science and technological programmes of the Ministry of Mines. Satyabhama is actually an abbreviation for Science and Technology Yojana for Aatmanirbhar Bharat in Mining Advancement.

About the Yojana:

The Purpose of the scheme

The interesting avenue this scheme offers stands out to be an essential significance of the scheme. It allows the online submission of projects and allows monitoring projects and utilization of funds or grants which stands to be in contrast to the present scenario which necessitates physical submission.

The scheme allows researchers to submit progress reports and final Technical reports relating to the project in electronic format. This also is a way of aligning the scheme with the Digital India programme and its objectives.

To add to it, the scheme will make a user manual available on the portal where the stepwise procedures for submission of projects will be highlighted.

The project is integrated with the NGO Darpan portal which falls under the NITI Aayog.

Summing it up

With Satyabhama, there will be newer advancements made in the field of mining and mineralogy – which will definitely put India at the forefront of global mining research and innovation in the years to come.
