Lawyers usually find it hard to immediately hit the finances right after their studying as the job is dynamic and you can only be financially stable if you have a steady influx of cases coming in. Acknowledging the issue young advocates face initially, the government of Tamil Nadu launched a scheme known as the Young Advocates Monthly Allowance Scheme.

Advocates who are practicing in Tamil Nadu and are registered with the TamilNadu Bar Council and are also in the voter’s list of state will be able to apply for CM Young Advocates Monthly Allowance Scheme.

Amount offered by the Young Advocates Monthly Allowance Scheme

The state IT department would be releasing the Chief Minister Young Advocates Monthly Allowance online application form on the Law department’s website.

The stipend amount of ₹3,000 per month will be given under this scheme and will be paid during the first two years of their practice.

Need for the scheme

The Young Advocates scheme came to be when the state decided to pay heed to the long pending demand from the Legal fraternity. The CM Advocate Welfare Scheme would benefit young lawyers who otherwise find it hard to make ends meet during the first couple of years of their practice.

Owing to this scheme, young lawyers now breathe easier as they as assured that they have some amount of money coming in for sure in the first couple of years of their practice. This enables Tamil Nadu to have a higher standard of lawyers in the years to come.
