Trying times call for relief schemes for the vulnerable; they are the ones who get affected most severely with the consequences of something like a lockdown. Hence, in favor of those labourers and daily wage workers who are finding it really hard to go through days right now, the CM of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Aditya Nath has announced the Yogi Majdur Yojana.
Purpose of the scheme
There are many daily wage workers and labourers who find it really hard to get through their days without an influx of income. Through this scheme, Yogi Aditya Nath wants to ensure the labourers from Uttar Pradesh that the government has not turned a deaf ear to the pleas of the poor.
Benefits that come under the Yogi Majdur scheme
- The Uttar Pradesh Government under this scheme aims to provide financial assistance to the labourers of ₹1000.
- 35 lakh labourers of the state will be provided with financial help by the government
- The state government has also announced that it will provide 20kg of wheat and 15kg of rice to the Below Poverty Line families of the state for free. These food grains will be provided through dedicated PDS centers.
- The promised amount will be directly transferred to the accounts of the beneficiaries who have a bank account under the Jan Dhan Yojana. It is therefore mandatory for the applicant to have a bank account linked to his/her Aadhar card.
Such assistance from the government goes a long way in aiding troubled workers. This scheme is a sigh of relief to those who have had really bad days since the lockdown was announced.
