In a state of the pandemic that we all find ourselves to be in, we surely are facing one of the worst times in recent history. However, farmers have been having it worse long before the pandemic even set foot ashore.

With rampant exploitation and them getting a poor price for the produce they put out, farmers have been finding it difficult to make ends meet. With meagre incomes and rising debts, the farmers really have it tough for themselves.

The government, over the years, has been cognisant of farmer issues and have launched multiple schemes to benefit the farmers. One such scheme in recent times is the AP Kharif Crops Online registration – an initiative by the Andhra Pradesh state government.

What is the AP Kharif Crops Online registration about?

The AP Kharif crops is a new scheme for selling agricultural produce at the CMAPP portal. The app will help farmers in making AP Kharif crops registration for the year 2020. This will enable farmers to sell it at various procurement centres after which the support price announced by the government will be credited directly into the farmer’s bank account.

Roughly about 76,000 farmers have already known to have registering their crops in the CMAPP for this Kharif season.

How to apply online for the AP Kharif crops online?

What role do the RBKs play in the procurement of Kharif crops?

Farmers usually have to sell their goods at lower prices just for them to be able to put out the produce they have grown with all their hard work lest it rots away. They, more often than not, end up getting exploited in the process.

In order to enable farmers to sell their produce at the village level, the agricultural marketing department is now taking active measures to set up more procurement centres across the state.

There are around 8258 procurement centres that have already been set up in close association with Rythu Bharosa Kendra all across the state to procure crops of the current Kharif season. Farmers have to register their details at their respective RBKs before selling their produce at the government procurement centres. Once the details of the registered farmer reaches the online database, the farmer would get information directly on their registered mobile numbers and the payment will therefore consequently be credited directly to the farmer’s account within 10 days of procurement itself.
